R = Change in pressure / Flow (Q)
-PVR can be given in either PR (Peripheral Resistance) Units: mmHg / mL / s or
in CGS (Centimeters, Grams & Seconds) Units: dyne * s / cm5
-the form below uses the equation:
PVR = X * PAP(mmHg) - PCWP(mmHg)
CO(L/min)
-where PAP (mmHg) = Pulmonary Artery Pressure
PCWP (mmHg) = Pulmonary Capillary Wedge Pressure --> Left Atrial Pressure
CO (L/min) = Cardiac Output
For PR Units --> X = 0.06
For CGS Units --> X = 80
